♦ Elma Raissi (BSc Neuroscience Honours Student in the Language Processing Lab) wins the Students' Union-Excellence in Research Honourable Mention Award and $500 for the poster she presented on her honours thesis research at the University of Calgary Undergraduate Research Symposium (November 2011).

♦ Our work on the Psychology of Sarcasm is highlighted in a new article in the Smithsonian Magazine (November 2011). 

♦ Recent Language Processing Lab research on visual word recognition in competitive Scrabble players (by Ian Hargreaves, Penny Pexman, Lenka Zdrazilova, and Peter Sargious) is described in the media and in several good blogs: MSNBC's The Body Odd and Scientific Canadian. (August 2011).
