Congratulations to Catherine Thomas

Graduate Student wins Best Presentation Award (Graduate) at the Spring Conference on Behaviour and Brain.

Catherine Thomas, a PhD student in the Department of Psychology (Lovic Laboratory - Addiction Neuroscience), has won the Best Presentation Award (graduate) at the annual Canadian Spring Conference on Behaviour and Brain (Fernie, BC). In her  talk ("Drug sensitization leads to rapid incentive sensitization.”), Catherine showed novel findings that prior exposure to cocaine (i.e., sensitization) can rapidly lead to cocaine stimuli or cues to be imbued with motivational value. These findings have significant impact on our understanding of drugs’ long-lasting effects on drug seeking and consumption.
