Research Interests

My primary research interests focus on identifying relationships between physical health and psychosocial variables. I am particularly interested in transgenerational transmission of health and for this reason much of my work is focused on interventions delivered in pregnancy.

Currently, I am investigating ways to intervene and positivley influence health trajectories in vulnerable populations. My current research is focused on (1) understanding how maternal adversity is associated with infant and child health problems and (2) testing interventions in pregnancy that treat parental depression, anxiety, insomnia and couples distress to see if those changes lead to better parental and child health profiles.

In a second and related line of research, I investigate predictors and consequences of poor infant and child sleep both in typically developing populations and in children experiencing illness (e.g., pediatric cancer, TBI).
